Description

1 bitch left out of litter of 8, ready to leave now. We had an outstanding litter of 8 KC Registered Working Cocker Spaniels Pups, we have 1 bitch left. The litter included 5 bitches and 3 dogs with various black and White and chocolate and white markings.  All pups come fully health tested clear, on both parents. They have all been  wormed, microchipped, flea treated and vet checked.  We have also been following the puppy culture programme. The pups have been weaned from 3 weeks on high-end raw food and leave for their new homes with an extensive puppy pack including food (and a voucher for a 5kg starter pack of nutriment raw food), treats, a fleece blanket, toys and other extra’s, along with all relevant paperwork from birth, contract and KC/microchip change of ownership documents and continuous support from us. These are high quality pups that we bred to create high drive, hard working, smart loyal companions. with incredible temperament.  The sire – KC registered working cocker “Helianthemum Roll the Dice” runs at medium agility, he is a young dog and very quick learner who is proving to be very talented in agility. Dice is extremely enthusiastic and loving and is a bit of a clown, he’s got an incredible personality and really aims to please. These qualities, combined with a biddable and genuine nature, means he is a pleasure to train and trust worthy yet exciting on the field. Principle traits such as retrieve and recall come as second nature to the Dam – “Ganwydodderw Queen at Bettastorm”.  She will enthusiastically attack any cover with speed, style and pace.  She is a very pretty medium KC Registered working cocker who is very eager to please with a very loving nature. She’s a fast paced keen girl with a biddable nature.  Pedigree includes, The Dams Sire is FT CH Endowood Cork.  Grandparents FT CH Dardnell Dealer IKC & FT CH Mallowdale Midge & plenty more Champions in the breeding. All the pups have gone to active agility homes and therefore priority for this last bitch will also go to an agility or working home.  Active family homes where she will be given the love and attention she deserves will also of course considered. All of the pups have the most adorable nature and the traits from both the Dam and Sire ensure great quality dogs. The puppies have been well socialised within our family, with friends, our cats and other dogs as well as the sire.  They are used to all the noises of a busy household and as such are bold, well adjusted pups. Viewings are welcome anytime.

Buyer’s Checklist

Buying a dog or puppy is a big commitment and investment. Here at Working Spaniel we have put together some of the key things you need to ask, think about and check before connecting with buyers or making the decision to visit. We cannot protect buyers every step of the way so once you step outside the safety of our site, it is over to you.

Identification

Do not be offended by sellers asking for ID or verification of who you are. Many sellers will be wary of scammers and the potential for theft so put them at ease as soon as you are able. The same goes for sellers- make sure you include plenty of information about the dog or service you are selling and set out your requirements of a visit.

Safety

Be very aware of scams and requests for upfront deposits or account information. Emails sent to sellers are not saved on the site. Working Spaniel cannot be held responsible for any phishing or fraudulent activity.

Be Responsible

Ask lots of questions, and make sure you have done your research. If a dog is being sold with a pedigree or the sire and or dam has awards you can verify this on our platform. Licensed breeders will always state that they are licensed and have a licence number. Not all puppies will be from licensed breeders especially if it is a hobby breeder that does not breed lots of litters.

Licensed breeders:

Licensing regulations vary across the UK so please check the rules on your local council’s website or where you plan to buy.

Licensed breeders need to pass strict inspections to get their licence. They will be given a star rating from 1 to 5 and undergo periodic re-inspections to ensure they are meeting welfare standards.

Hobby breeders:

These breeders usually have litters every now and then but don’t do it often enough to require a licence. Hobby breeders usually focus on one or two breeds and will be just as happy as licensed breeders to provide viewings with the mother and paperwork.

Puppy farmers:

These are the ones to avoid! They can be hard to spot but they won’t do everything in this checklist. Look out if:

  • they avoid your questions,
  • try to hide the pup’s mother
  • they don’t showing an interest in how you will look after the puppy
  • they pressure you to make a decision
  • they have differences in addresses or personal details on paperwork

Remember

  • Puppies must be 8 weeks old at the time of sale and been fully weaned before they can leave their mothers. Please make sure to check the paperwork to ensure the puppy is old enough.
  • Puppies must be viewed with the mother at the location of the breeder.
  • Microchips are a legal requirement as are legal docking certificates if they are working dogs and have been docked. Never accept them being sent on later!
  • Health testing is not vet checked. You can verify health testing on Kennel Club Registered breeds on their website. If the dog or parents are not registered ask to see the health test certificates and do your research on credible testing.
  • Most puppies will have been health checked for microchipping. Ask for details of the vet to verify this.
  • Not all pups have been vaccinated but a good breeder will often include first vaccination with microchips.
  • Ask about the puppy’s worms and fleas treatment schedule. Depending on the breeder’s schedule you may need to do the final treatments yourself.
  • You should always get your pet insured as the cost of unexpected vet bills can be very high. Insure as early as possible as companies do not usually cover existing medical conditions. You want to be insured before anything develops.
  • Lucy’s Law came into effect in April 2020 check what that means here
  • If you think a puppy may be the result of irresponsible breeding, do not “rescue” the puppy no matter how much you want to. We know it’s very hard but walk away and report the seller to us and your local council immediately.
  • We recommend viewing without commitment to buy, walk away discuss and let them know, do not be put under pressure in any circumstances.
